Friday Freebie.... the haul

Okay, I don't actually have a project to blog about today, because it's our bulk trash pickup week, and I've been too busy hauling stuff home. I know some of you are cringing right now, "yuck...someone else's crap!" I just have to say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", and there isn't anything a little Lysol and paint can't fix-up.

Specimen #1: Check out this awesome VINTAGE lamp!

Specimen #2: A pair of folding chairs...great for lounging outside.

Specimen #3, #4 and #5: A COFFEE table! I don't love the finish on this baby, but the curvy-ness is AWESOME! A pair of glass cabinet fronts, and a tri-fold mirror.

Specimen #6: Smallish dresser with all it's DOVE-TAILED drawers in perfect working order.

Specimen #7: An ENORMOUS frame. The glass was "not included" with this one, but I think I can still make it work.

As you can see, I have a lot of work ahead of me. Be sure to visit on Fridays to see how my projects turn out.

Lazy Post

It's been a rough weekend at my house, working all weekend, sick hubby, and I am pretty sure those top teeth are going to poke through really soon for baby M. The results are a lazy post, so sorry. Remember the green dresser? Remember how I also told you I would show you the rest of the nursery and never did? Well here you go, sorta. Since I am in a lazy mood, you get to see it by clicking over to one of my absolute FAVORITE websites, Ohdeedoh. I was SO EXCITED/lucky that they featured the nursery. I love the entire Apartment Therapy empire, but Ohdeedoh, is my fave because of their kid theme. I was really lucky, I had a vision for the nursery, but am not artistic at all. Thankfully, I married someone who is, and he did most of the work (painting, building furniture, etc.) on the room. It is a large room, which is nice, but kind of a weird layout with it opening to the bathroom. We got the crib for free, the bookshelf on sale for $45, the changing table on sale for $35, and the rocker we paid full price I think around $150, but I think we did pretty well to furnish the room for so cheap. Without further adieu, you can check out the nursery HERE, mainly cause I am lazy and didn't want to upload the pictures. :) What do you think??

Quick Dresser Makeover

When we started the nursery a year ago, we knew we had a small budget. We wanted to see how we could make use of some of our existing items and still have a cute room. I am embarrassed that I actually had this sitting in the room before with decorations on it. YUCK!
A little sanding, some cute green paint, and some metal spray paint on the knobs and legs, we went from drab to fab in a hurry!
Here it is today, MUCH better! Isn't it amazing what a little paint can do??

Stay tuned to see the nursery in all of it's glory...
