Tidy Tips: Sealing Envelopes

I know we have said it before, but this poor blog has been neglected.  In my defense, I am pregnant and have been SOOO sick.  That brings me to my next point.  Because I have been sick and tired I am just now sending out my Christmas cards.  At least they will get there before Christmas!  Another thing with being pregnant is weird smells and tastes are out of the question, so there is NO WAY I was going to lick all those envelopes to seal them.  I got a little creative instead.

No, I am not going to do my make up while sealing envelopes and this glass of water is not for drinking.  You take the make up brush, dip it in the water, and use it to seal your envelopes.

Voila!  A nicely sealed envelope with minty fresh breath!
Happy Holidays!

Need To Make Last Minute Valentines?: Weekend Website

The big day is Monday, have you made/bought all of your Valentine's Day cards? If you have waited until the last minute and all the "good" Valentine's Day cards at the store are sold out, you could make these fun Valentine's Day suckers that kids and adults will love. I know I am on a bit of a mustache kick lately, and then when I was asked if I had any ideas for a Valentine's party, I thought lips would be an adorable theme! My friend Liv is going to do a lip themed baby shower, wouldn't these be cute favors? I saw these free printouts at Blonde Designs Blog, and couldn't resist sharing them! Angie and Kristin are graphic designers who used to work for Martha. Yes, THE Martha! Their blog is packed full of fun ideas throughout the year, so be sure to stop by and check it out. Have a wonderful weekend!

Quite the Christmas Card: Weekend Website

I wish I was as creative and talented as the Foster family. Instead of making a Christmas card for their friends every year, the make a Christmas Video. I was perusing over at Design Mom the other day when I came across this fabulous video. The picture above is from behind the scenes, this scene took a lot of candy canes! Her children are ADORABLE and very good actors, I am super impressed. Check out the video in it's entirety HERE. Have a lovely weekend, only 7 days left until Christmas!!

What do you do with your Christmas cards?

I know for some people Christmas cards are a chore, and now in the digital age, many have found it easier to send e-card, rather than spending the time and money to print, stamp, and address cards. I know it is cheaper and easier to go digital, but I LOVE getting Christmas cards. The real ones, in the mailbox are THE BEST! So think twice about sending me a digital one, and please send a real one, let's not completely lose that personal touch. This year I really wanted to do a fun craft to display my Christmas cards, but I just couldn't find the time. I am not a fan of being a working Mom, it means those 25+ hours I spend at work, I don't get to spend playing with my baby and doing fun crafts that I would like. I decided to just survey what supplies I had, so I didn't have to make a trip to the store and go from there. I ended up using my leftover scrapbook paper from my paper chain, and beautifying some normal clothes pins I had. I have seen this project many places, I have also seen people paint their clothes pins, which is also super cute.
After my beautifying efforts, I just ran some baker's twine over existing nails in the wall. We live in a small place, which means my options are limited, so over the window it went.
I love being able to pin up new cards as they come, and I think it worked, for a simple solution. How do you display your cards? Have you seen any cute craft ideas for displaying cards? Have you sent out your cards yet? I got mine done last week, it took me FOREVER to decide which card from Shutterfly to get, but since I had a million pictures, I decided on this one. I love it. I wish I could figure out how to show you my actual card, but since I can't right click and save, you get to see the generic one. I love this season of remembering Christ's birth, sharing, and getting together with family. Keep the cards coming my way! :)
