Get the kids in on the fun this holiday: Weekend Website

If you are in for a weekend full of sunshine and barbeque's, I am EXTREMELY jealous. I am in for a weekend of rain, rain, and more rain. BOO. If you are going to be grilling this weekend, why not make this adorable grill for your little ones. You will be shocked when you see how simple, inexpensive, and what this is made out of. I LOVE IT. This is on the list of things to make for my son, well maybe on my husband's list! :) Head on over to Ohdeedoh for the full tutorial. Enjoy your holiday weekend!!

Fun Free Easter Craft: Weekend Website

I found this cute tutorial after Easter last year and thankfully had it bookmarked. I came across it the other day and had to share. Aren't these bunnies adorable? They are quick, easy and FREE and would make such a fun gift for your kids Easter basket. Check out the tutorial here over at Elsie Marley's blog. You will love it! I am off to Southern Utah for the Easter holiday and super excited to get some sun! The blog will be on a bit of spring break for the next week, maybe a post or too, if we are up to it. Then it is birthday time! I have gone way overboard on my 1 year old's birthday, but my mother in law had it right, you only turn 1 once! Have a great weekend!!

Fun Favor Idea: Weekend Website

I have birthdays on the brain in a major way. I keep finding great ideas for my son's birthday then adding another project to my to do list. I need to stop and just get done what I have. I have to have all the decor done by the 17th because I will be out of town through Easter and his birthday is 2 days after. On those days I will be baking up a storm. ANYWAY, I am rambling a bit now, birthdays and fun ideas, that is where I am going with this post. Aren't those super heroes adorable!! I think they would be fun favors for a super hero themed birthday party. Do you wanna know the best part about them? Jessica over at zakka life has the printable templates for FREE. I have this page bookmarked, being the Mom of a boy I am positive we will be doing a super hero themed party someday. Hope you have a fun weekend planned, I joined a softball league and our first practice is on Saturday, YAY! We are also going to a pirate themed birthday party at Pirate Island and it is General Conference weekend. The best part is, I get to participate in all of these activities because I don't work this weekend. That rarely happens. Enough of my babbling....enjoy your weekend!!

Finding Gold at the End of The Rainbow: Weekend Website

I know I have shared this website before, but Marie from Make and Takes, has too many fun ideas not to share. I LOVE this cute, easy, inexpensive craft, it is the perfect centerpiece for a St. Patrick's Day dinner. You can also make mini pots of gold for favors if you are throwing an Irish themed party. I have already made a big one and it is sitting on a shelf as part of what little St. Patrick's Day decor I have. This would also be a fun activity for kids on St. Patrick's Day, have little leprechaun footprints lead them to their very own pot of gold. Find the full tutorial HERE. Have a great weekend!

St. Patrick's Day Party Ideas: Weekend Website

I have always loved holidays, but when it comes to really celebrating St. Patrick's Day, I have never had a party. I do have a fun St. Patrick's Day dinner menu every year, but that is about the extent of what my celebration has been for this holiday. I think once you have kids every holiday becomes a lot more fun! I saw this fabulous party over at tsj photography, can you believe these ladies threw this together in 2 days!? This is obviously an adult theme, but as they point out it would be very easy to transform it into a kid theme as well. I have a fun, hopefully easy, St. Patrick's Day project I want to get done this weekend. Cross your fingers I will get it done so I can show you on Monday. Happy Weekend!!

Snacking Made Fun!: Weekend Website

You have probably noticed that I tend to get on themes when posting, I know I am a total weirdo. Right now my "theme" is food as you may have guessed, so I thought I would share this adorable snack, peanut butter and fruit sushi. I.LOVE.SUSHI. I could eat it everyday and never tire of it. Unfortunately for me, my budget doesn't allow for many sushi outings these days, once every few months, if I am lucky. We did go a few weeks ago though, and I introduced my baby boy with a vegetarian roll, he seemed to enjoy it! I already mention I love Apartment Therapy, and when I saw this over at the kitchn, I couldn't resist, doesn't it look so fun? I am going to be trying this out soon, it is a fun healthy snack! Enjoy your weekend!!

Need To Make Last Minute Valentines?: Weekend Website

The big day is Monday, have you made/bought all of your Valentine's Day cards? If you have waited until the last minute and all the "good" Valentine's Day cards at the store are sold out, you could make these fun Valentine's Day suckers that kids and adults will love. I know I am on a bit of a mustache kick lately, and then when I was asked if I had any ideas for a Valentine's party, I thought lips would be an adorable theme! My friend Liv is going to do a lip themed baby shower, wouldn't these be cute favors? I saw these free printouts at Blonde Designs Blog, and couldn't resist sharing them! Angie and Kristin are graphic designers who used to work for Martha. Yes, THE Martha! Their blog is packed full of fun ideas throughout the year, so be sure to stop by and check it out. Have a wonderful weekend!

Spice Up Your Boring Lunch! : Weekend Website

Why is it that whenever you are trying to lose weight, all you can think about is food? One of my sister in laws visited Japan recently and was telling me about bentos, which are single portion Japanese meals. I decided to look into bentos and found this charming website, Crouching Mother, Hidden Toddler. Kelly makes such fun lunches for her daughter, they are super easy, and healthy! She gives tips on how to make fun lunches, and most of these are pretty quick to put together using a cookie cutter. When my baby starts eating more than just finger foods I hope to make some of these once a week. I received a dinosaur sandwich cutter as a gift and am excited to use it! If you have a picky eater this may be an option to try. Happy Weekend!!

Dinner Ideas and More!: Weekend Website

I find myself quite often thinking, "What should I make for dinner tonight?", most of the time I am tired of the same staples. If you're anything like me, you need to check out my friend Janey's blog, My Daily Cuisine. It's a food journal of sorts, that goes way beyond dinner recipes, like the photo above, Christmas Morning Rolls, YUM! Janey has a great palette, and you should find photos of all kinds of different cuisine. I have started doing her "Healthy Habits" to try to get rid of my baby body, and I am a big fan of healthy habits vs. dieting. In my opinion, diets don't work, unless you want to eat like that for the rest of your life. I highly recommended you check out this lovely blog, it is one of my faves. Have a great weekend, I am off to the gym! :)

I wish I was as creative and talented as the Foster family. Instead of making a Christmas card for their friends every year, the make a Christmas Video. Her children are ADORABLE and very good actors, I am super impressed. Check out the video in it's entirety HERE. Have a lovely weekend, only 7 days left until Christmas!!

While you are over there you must check out her rainbow cake, I LOVE it, I was a big Rainbow Brite fan as a kid, and would have gone crazy for that cake.

If you think that the cake above is your average, cute, jack-o-lantern cake, then you would only be half right. He is far from average, he has a secret, a surprise for you! Check out his surprise HERE, I am in awe of how talented she is.

Who doesn't love a great deal? Weekend Website

I have debated whether or not to post this website, because I want to keep it to myself! This is one of my favorite websites babysteals.com . Everyday at 9am and 9pm MST there is a new "steal" which is a fabulous name brand item for half the price! I must issue a warning though, you will be HOOKED, once you start. I have bought so many great items that I have had to convince my husband I really "need". If you don't have a baby you can check out their sister sites, kidsteals.com and scrapbooksteals.com. You have to be quick though, because they sell out fast! Have a great weekend and happy stealing!

Making your own dress for a $1 a day: Weekend Website

A new dress everyday? Yes, please! One of my friends sent me a link to her favorite blog New Dress A Day, and I am LOVING it! Marisa decided to forgo traditional shopping for a year, buy a new dress a day, and make it fabulous! I am jealous for so many reasons. I don't sew, I had a rather unfortunate experience in junior high with making a monkey, his ears are on the inside of his head. Marisa does an amazing job of making these dresses go from drab to fab all on her $1 a day budget! Check out what she did with this beauty and have a great weekend!

Homemade pancakes have never been so fun!: Weekend Website

I will admit, at first glance Jim's Pancakes look super intimidating to make, but after watching the bacon and eggs tutorial; it is not as hard as it looks. You will be amazed at some of the pancakes: a dinosaur, sushi, and a ferris wheel! Jim has got pancake making for his adorable daughter down to an art, literally. There are great recipes and each pancake is rated by difficulty level, so you can start off slow. Tomorrow, when you are whipping up your Sunday morning pancakes, try out a few of these, you kids will love it!
