Friday Freebie(s)

I have guilt...immense guilt, because I told you all to be sure to visit my blog on Fridays to see all the fun projects that I am completing. I have had a CRAZY week, and have started numerous projects, though none have been completed. Thus, I have deemed this the Friday Freebie that I hook you up with the FREEBIES I have found while scouring the web. They're good ones!

1. Chick-fil-a is offering FREE waffle fries today from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. at participating restaurants. To get your FREE medium size waffle fries, all you have to do is ask about their new HEINZ DIP & SQUEEZE/FREE FRY promotion. Sounds pretty easy!

2. Chipotle is offering "buy one get one free" of their truly AMAZING burritos. All you have to do is watch a 90 second video on their Facebook page Click the CHIPOTLE link above, then hit the "Get Offers" tab and watch the video. If you haven't experienced Chipotle, you are missing out! It is SOOO GOOD.

3. Kindle is currently offering FREE games for download

4. Pizza Hut~ This last FREEBIE requires a small purchase, hence it's placement at the bottom of this post. Get free breadsticks (worth $3.99) from Pizza Hut when you do two simple things: "Like" the Pizza Hut Facebook page, and place a food order through its website. The freebie is to celebrate Pizza Hut accumulating more than 3 million Facebook fans. The deal ends March 6, 2011. Order online for pick up or delivery to get the free breadsticks. A number of Facebook fans are commenting that the free breadsticks did not show up in their order, but when I tested it the free breadsticks were there. When you click through to start your order, the free breadsticks should already be in your cart. Make sure not to delete them or you'll have to start over from Facebook.

Hope you enjoy some of these FREEBIES!

One Dollar Wednesday... Valentine Pennant Banner

I LOVE Valentine's Day, but what girl doesn't? I've been itching to get some Valentine Dollar Store crafts done! I came up with a fun Valentine's pennant banner that I put together thanks to Dollar Tree.

I found this cute Valentine gift bag, and knew immediately what I would use it for.

I cut it to pieces using my trusty paper cutter.

I used one of the letters and a bowl to make a pattern.

I always have extra fabric on hand, and knew this red/white gingham would work perfectly. I traced and cut out 8 gingham pennants, and 4 white pennants.

I used one pennant on the bottom, one on the top, and sandwiched my white one in between. Pinned them together, and sewed all the way around the outside~ about 1/4 inch seam allowance.

Then I cut little slits all the way around each pennant. I wanted them to look a little raggedy, so I spritzed them with water and tossed them in the dryer.

Next I sewed each letter to a "pennant sandwich" with a zig-zag stitch.

I finished it off by sewing all the letters to a classic white bias tape.

I just LOVE how it turned out!

One Dollar Wednesday....Christmas Countdown

Have you been counting down the days until Christmas? Or have you been enjoying your advent calendar? My One Dollar Wednesday craft today is a Christmas Countdown.

This is where I started: baking sheet, garage sale stickers~ Dollar tree; gingerbread cookie stickers~ Joann's; number stickers~Honk's dollar store. I pulled the spray paint from my ENORMOUS spray paint collection.

Because the number stickers weren't the color I wanted, I simply colored them with a permanent marker...

After a "metal primer" coat on the baking sheet, I knew it was ready to get "dotty"...

Polka~dotty!

I added a couple coats of green spray paint and a coat of polyurethane, and we were good to go!

Then I added all my colored number stickers to my baking sheet.

My little gingerbread "cookies" just needed a quick addition...

and then they were ready to join the "Countdown".

I added a fancy bow to finish it off. Just TEN days left!

Happy Cyber Monday!

I am pleased to say this weekend was very fruitful for me in the way of shopping. I would say I am about 95% done with Christmas shopping, and got killer deals on the gifts I purchased. I think I only purchased 1 item that was not on sale, woo hoo! Tomorrow is Cyber Monday, and I am excited to see what deals are out there for my remaining 5%. The best part about online shopping is not having to brave the weather and you can shop in your PJ's. One of my favorite blogs, Homemade By Jill, is going to have a promo code for a Silhouette machine, and I am giving my husband major hints about this one. Do you know of any great Cyber Monday deals? If so, please share, so we can all take advantage of the savings! Happy shopping!
